Inclement Weather/eLearning

Posted Date: 12/11/25 (01:18 PM)

Sugar Grove Families,

As you may have seen, there is a strong chance of inclement weather over the next 24 hours. The district will announce whether we will follow an Asynchronous or Synchronous eLearning plan.

Asynchronous eLearning:
This is our traditional eLearning model. Teachers will post assignments by 9:00 a.m., and students will complete their work throughout the day. Teachers will be available by email during regular school hours to answer questions. The state allows districts to use only three asynchronous eLearning days per school year.

Synchronous eLearning (New This School Year):
This model includes live learning through Google Meet at scheduled times. Teachers will share links for students to join their Google Meets, and students will follow a structured schedule similar to a regular school day. Students are expected to arrive on time, participate, and remain in class for the duration. SG classes will meet from 9:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. Attendance will be taken in all classes.

Sugar Grove students should take their Chromebooks home and ensure they are fully charged whenever inclement weather is possible. Student email and Canvas can be accessed from any device. Teachers have reviewed procedures with students, and they are prepared should eLearning be necessary.

If either eLearning plan is implemented, more detailed instructions will be sent to students and families on the morning of the school closure.

Thank you, be careful, and stay warm!

Ms. Cook
